 Action group triggers
Sorry if I missed this somewhere. I have created an action group called "movie play" that I have linked to my AV remote control, so that when I hit "play" all the lights dim in the house. However, I would like to have this occur only at night, because during the day, when movies are being watched there is ambient light, so dimming the lights won't help, and the lights in other rooms might be needed by people. I cannot envision how to do this...would I create a trigger for the action group, or is there a way to add a conditional response to the action group itself
Thanks

 Re: Action group triggers
You can't add conditions to action groups. There are several ways to approach it - one way is to use a variable to store when you play/pause - then create a trigger such that when that variable changes it checks a condition to see if the time is right and if so then it dims/brightens the lights appropriately.

 Re: Action group triggers
You can't add a condition to the action group, but can't you add a condition to the trigger that fires the action group?

 Re: Action group triggers
Take a look at the meta device plugin. You create a pseudo-device that you operate to control your A/V system. In effect, the pseudo-device does nothing ... Except change state. Then, create a trigger to watch for the state change, and include a condition in the trigger. The action does the real work, like turning in the actual A/V device.
I think this will do exactly what you want.
