Post Indigo Touch feature requests
Indigo Touch feature requests:

1) I would like to see timestamps next to the on/off in the UITableView cells that inform me the last time the device was toggled.

2) I would like to see timestamps on the sprinkler modal view that tell me either what time the zone went on at, or how long it's been running for so far.

3) I would like to see icons next to the main folder names in the UITableView cells which are ON if ANY device in a child table is on, or OFF if EVERY device in the child table is off

4) I would like to see an optional UIAlertView confirmation message when tapping action groups, as they do more than just turn on/off one device and a user can accidentally hit the wrong one.

5) automatic switching between external and internal Indigo Servers when going between wi-fi and 3G.

Thanks for the suggestions. BTW, if you use the Prism reflector service it will automatically switch between local connection and the prism reflector based on your location.

I would like to be able to have my folders at the TOP of the device listing. Some way to manage sorting as it appears in remote devices.

In the interface I can sort by folder and put them at the top right where I want them. In Indigo Touch, the default location is at the bottom of a very long list.

Thanks,
Byron

Forcing sort order through alphabetization would be a good compromise to start.

I'd like the following to be considered:

1. The option to open a specified control page on app start, bypassing the devices/actions/Variable pages/toolbar altogether. Perhaps something in the Settings panel that would allow the user to select "normal" startup, or choose from a list of configured control pages. This might would require moving the settings panel to the phone setting page and out of the app, or some creative way to expose the settings panel while in app and on a control page.

2. The ability to send voice announcements to connected Indigo Touch clients (this may already be there, excuse the newb...) Something scriptable like "Say 'garage door open' on Kitchen-iPad" would be sweet and an "All connected clients" option would be a nice bonus.

3. To send specific iDevice actions back to the indigo server. Examples include: shake gesture, gyro info, gps info, battery info, etc... Perhaps an additional settings page with each option with an on/off control.

+ I'd like to be able to view the logs from Indigo Touch for troubleshooting on the go.

Would love to. Apple first has to provide an API to access it in iOS (which they haven't yet). ;)

Indigo Touch with the reflector/prism service is a great combination! I use both extensively. As great as the product is, I still have a few features that I would like you to consider adding:

1. It would be nice to have multiple user accounts and give each user access to specific control pages. If I have a guest over that has an iPhone, I'd like to give them access to a control page tailored for guests. Using smartphone radar, I could even have it activate their user account when it sees them on the network and deactivate it when they are not on the network --- that way they won't have control of the guest page when they are not here.

2. Also, now that I am using Global Cache to control my home theater, I have a couple of deactivated iPhone 3GS' setup as remotes. It would be nice to limit accounts on those phones so that they only see the remote screens and not have access to security systems, HVAC, etc.

3. As Terry said, it would be nice to specify a default control page on app start.

4. I mentioned this before but I wanted to put all my wishes in one place: The ability to have a button that would continue to perform a specified action until the button is released. Using the Global Cache plugin, I have noticed the need for this on the Volume Up/Down buttons as well as the Playstation PS button.

Plus 1 for the requests above -- adding access to the Indigo log for "Administrator" accounts.

Thanks,

I second Siri integration! (understand the API piece is needed first)... It would really be like living in Star Trek "Turn on Living Room Lights".

Here's a quick hack. It's not Star Trek, but it's somewhat close, and it works today...

1. Enable email polling in Indigo. It's under Preferences. Get it to poll a special account you create for Indigo once a minute. Check "delete from server emails that trigger actions".
2. Create a Trigger in Indigo, based off an type "Email Received" that has a subject of "Mode arriving home" and your email address as who the email is from (see "Sender address is:")
3. Set the Action of the trigger to your "arriving home" Group in Indigo, assuming you have a group set up to do this. Most of us have something like this in place.
4. On your iPhone, make an contact entry with a last name of "Indigo" and an email address of the special one you used in step #1.
5. Now tell Siri "Email Indigo subject arriving home body nothing". Then confirm with it you are OK with sending it.
6. Wait for up to 1 minute (your setting from step #1), and you should see Indigo poll the email account, and run the Action your specified in the trigger.

Note: It's slow, as Indigo only checks once a minute, and you have to be precise in what you say to it. Making a typo in your Trigger subject saying "arrivvvving" instead of "arriving" won't activate the Trigger. To help me understand what has just happened from my iPhone, I have Indigo send me a Growl (via Prowl) when an event like "arriving home" is triggered in Indigo. Setup whatever makes sense to you.

Also, please don't set a Trigger for anything disastrous like "turn off all heat" in the middle of winter. You never know when a false Trigger could happen (unlikely, but possible).

And lastly, I am not responsible for anything that happens to your house. Period. ;-)

Yep - all these workarounds have one pretty fatal issue - it's totally insecure since it's using a public medium to transport commands. I really hope an API will show up some day...

(laugh) I couldn't agree with you more. That's why I said not to put any command in the place that will shut down your house heat ;-)

The real solution is clearly an API and it's use with Indigo Touch. I'll be patient with Apple and watch for their API to appear.

For those actions that have speak specified, I'd love to hear that through IndigoTouch if running or in the background.
