Post [HELP]: Keypadlinc Dimmer Timer
I have a KP Linc Timer (8 button, 2min, 5min, 10min, 15 min, 30 min, 1hr, 2hr, off). I was trying to catch the event when a specific button is pressed. Button 1 (2 min) or Button 2 (5 min).
However, when setting up Indigo to respond on Keypad Button LED 1 becomes ON, or Keypad Button LED 2 becomes On, both triggers are firing when either button is turned on. I see similar response with buttons 7 and 8 for OFF conditions.

Odd - when you press button 2, what shows up in the Event Log window?

When BUTTON 2 is pressed, the log shows Button 1.

I have also noted that this device takes a really, really, really, really, long time to sync its links. It ran for about 40 min. Most link resyncs take 2-3 min tops.

We've seen the KPL timers sync super slowly - I suspect there's actually something wrong with the firmware.

Anyway, press each button and let me know what it's reporting in the Event Log for each.

They all respond as Button 1 and each button flashes several times when pressed.

Hi Neil,

I'm afraid that is just the way the KeypadLinc Timer works. Because the buttons are internally overridden to act as timers but always control the main load, they always only broadcast out Button/Group 1 messages. There is no way Indigo can change/override this behavior of the keypad.

So, there is no way to know which button was pressed with the KeypadLinc Timer then?
The KeypadLinc does not work the same way does it? I can tell which button is pressed on that one. KP Button 2, or 3.

Correct. There is no way to tell.

Correct, the KeypadLinc will broadcast a unique button/group number for each button which Indigo can use as a unique Trigger.
