Post Some progress migrating to INDIGO 6
Being able to leave Weather Display behind was the last hurdle. Still busy migrating variables from new WeatherSnoop install.

Hope to migrate Z-wave away from Vera 3 little by little. Optimistic re Yale locks but looks like that may not be possible.

Matt/Jay: Consider passing that hat if needed to help with Sigma licensing, etc. I understand your predicament but keep in mind that it costs us to keep a Vera going and I'd just as soon single source and retire my Vera eventually :)

Hope to play with my Z-Stick this weekend after digging through the forum for comments.

Here is a display bar

I use on various displays throughout the house.

In case you're wondering.... I use Celsius outside and Fahrenheit for inside temps. Not sure why, just turned out that way over the years :)

Locks show battery status and display red when open.
The round blue buttons are Z-wave Motion Sensors.

I was quite looking forward to z-wave locks too, it’s so unfortunate that it’s such a difficult process for them to add :(. That said i’m hopeful for the Lockitron.. perhaps a couple of those will satisfy my Indigo integration needs :)

Looking at the lockitron api, we noticed some holes - most importantly, the inability to get it's current status. Which, for a device that can be manually operated, that's a big problem. We hope that they'll solve that problem by the time it ships. If they do then it could be an alternative.

Without status capability you might as well save yourself some work Jay.
We'd be back to Morning Industries.

It's the status feedback that makes electronic locks feasible in the big picture.
If need be, Vera3 for just the locks will be my choice with the only concern being that the Vera Plugin may not work in INDIGO 7 :)

It's like they don't want us to automate our locks! Well.. It's not a deal breaker for me, I've put sensors on my locks so I can tell if they're locked or not already... The lockitron is the ideal device (hopefully) for me as in the UK most insurance companies require the locks conform to BS3621:2007 for cover.. As the lockitron is just a bolt on to the existing lock it shouldn't be an issue.

Unless I read the lockitron info incorrectly it's basically designed to go over a standard deadbolt and not an electronic one that has a battery back on the inside, at least not easily.
With standard deadbolt it would mean you can only open from outside with key or iPhone. No number pad keyless entry from outside other than iPhone.

I find the number pad a great convenience. Would find iPhone use for normal entry a pain in the butt.
Of course with proximity sensing it could be quite nice.

I agree with you, they simply don't want us to automate our locks :)

Ideally I'd rather not have a pin Pad outside, I was planning on working it all from proximity.. Either way though I think I'll delay my lock plans until 2014, we're going to be buying a new house then so makes sense to wait to see what the locks there are like... Hopefully not one of these horrible uPVC doors we have here with funny locks :/

I'm on my third electronic lock scheme. First was just pin-pad to get rid of keys, 2nd was Morning Industries which worked pretty good but was complicated to get status on. I did have a buried push-button/relay scheme on 2 doors but on my third it was not easy to put a pin switch into the deadbolt area hence my current 3rd scheme of Yale/Vera3/Vera Plugin.

I do like having a pin pad as it's easier to give family members that only visit occasionally a number than making them carry a proximity sensor or key. I'm keeping an eye on the iAutomate hardware and plugin though as it would make a nice addition for my own access.

I have to resolve disarming my alarm via remote or INDIGO first. My alarm system is a DCS PC3000, I.e. old and I'm reluctant to upgrade while it's still working well.

Yeah... Locks do seen tricky :/

As for alarms just grab a new DSC PC1864 and network adapter to replace your old panel, travis's wonderful dsc plugin works perfectly.. I just installed a brand new system in my flat and control it all via a control page... And just to bring us back to the indigo 6 topic it's been updated just for indigo 6 compatibility :)
