 Choosing a new interface ...
Hi,
I am a long time user of Indigo and like it very much. Unfortunately, I have sticked to v1.8 because it supports Apple Script. I am now experiencing signal strength problem at home. I have a large house (4000 square feet) and signals seem to be missing their target more often than they did. This has not been the case for years.
I suppose that my CM11 is loosing in strength. I want to replace it, and would like some advice on what interface I should choose. I understand most of the differences but wonder if real life provides a better clue to what interface I should choose. Should I stick with a new CM11 or go to a CM15A or PowerLinc ? Indigo is run from my computer and I will continue to do so.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Choosing a new interface ...
Hi Robert,
Either one should work. The CM15 is nice since it is a USB device and can directly receive X10 RF commands. I haven't personally noticed any reliability difference between the CM11 vs CM15 (they are both pretty reliable). I'm not sure if either the CM11 or CM15 are manufactured anymore. Regardless, you can probably find them available online somewhere. Most of our users in the US and Canada are using the PowerLinc interfaces since they support INSTEON as well as X10. But they actually don't support X10 as well as the CM11/CM15, so if you are sticking with a 100% X10 based system then I would recommend the CM11 or CM15.
Note Indigo 5 has the same AppleScript support as 1.8 (actually 5 has additional AppleScript hooks for some of the newer INSTEON devices). Version 5 just also supports python and had a python based plugin architecture.

Hi Matt,
I thank you for your reply and advice. I will give v5.0 a look. I am always surprise for your personal and generous intervention. This forum and Indigo are gems.
Regards.
