I had JB'd my iPhone at v.4.3.3, and was extremely happy with a few of the apps, SBSettings, MiWi and BiteSMS in particular. However, with the impending migration to the 'cloud and my need to keep contacts in sync, I kind of gave up on JB as it is looking a little too labor intensive to maintain. And, signing on and off of the tethering plan might be good enough for the occasional time when traveling and no wifi.
However, BiteSMS is very good app. It has the functionality of TakePhone for the Palm, which I used to own. With the BiteSMS app one can save and reuse standard phrases easily from a pulldown menu. Very simple and useful.

Since I've lost the BiteSMS app, I made a CP that referenced a variable list in which I loaded several of my prior quick phrases. While this is nowhere near as slick as BiteSMS -- one needs to go to Indigo Touch, migrate to the Text page, press the variable, select all, copy then go back to messages and paste -- it takes very little concentration or focus to do so compared with trying to send an actual text. In situations where one's focus should be elsewhere, this may be useful. IndigoTouch is well suited to this versus a text list containing all the phrases: Because each phrase exists in its own box, as opposed to a text list, "select all" chooses only what's in that variable. Note: not recommended to text and drive!
