 bonjour connection failure
Since I upgraded to Indigo server 4.1.18 and 19 I have lost contact with indigo touch (1.7.0). "Connection to Indigo server failed"
My client applications on the network connect just fine. Here is the server log entry

 Re: bonjour connection failure
These errors normally mean that the wrong port is being used. Indigo Touch should always connect to the Web server port which defaults to 8176. If you connect to the Indigo Server port (default 1176) then you will see those errors.

 Re: bonjour connection failure
I've been connecting on port 1178 (remote mac client), and using I-touch regularly for years without any problem.

What ports are shown in the Start Local Server dialog (via the Indigo menu) for the HTTP port (first one) and the Indigo Server port (second one)? It is impossible to connect using Indigo Touch to the main Indigo Server (which defaults to port 1176). You can connect using the remote Mac client to that port, but not using Indigo Touch -- it absolutely has to use the Web HTTP port.

 Re: bonjour connection failure
They're both set to 1178, I've been using this set up for the past 2 years. It's worked fine up till now.

 Re: bonjour connection failure
I'm not sure how they both could have successfully worked. Maybe one of them worked and which one gets to claim the port has changed, but it isn't possible for both servers to share a port.
They need to be unique port numbers. By default the HTTP server is 8176, and the Indigo Server is 1176.

 Re: bonjour connection failure
Matt, just asking while the post is still open : so you need to port forward both 1176 and 8176 on the router ? (one for the web and one for Touch)... thanks Eric

 Re: bonjour connection failure
For Indigo Touch you need to have the Indigo Web Server accessible, which by default runs on port 8176.
Port 1176 is just used by the Mac (Cocoa) Indigo client application, and only needs to be accessible if you want to connect remotely from a Mac using that client (not just Safari).
